Tech Media Startup Expo 2024 Kicks Off at Film Bazaar, Goa
Shaping the Future of Media with Technology
Panjim is all abuzz as the Tech Media Startup Expo 2024 opens its doors at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa. Hosted by the Department of Information Technology, Electronics, and Communications (DITE&C), Government of Goa, this five-day event is set to explore the intersection of technology, media, and films. The Expo is in line with Goa’s vision to become the Creative Capital of India and is bringing together visionary industry leaders, startups, and innovation.
Building on the success of its first edition in 2023, this year’s Expo is a collaborative effort supported by key players such as IFFI, Startup India, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), India Blockchain Alliance (IBA), and Producers Guild of India (PGI), among other partners
The knowledge sessions opened at Fortune Miramar, Goa with a roundtable on the challenges and opportunities for media creators, setting the tone for the discussions over the next few days. Raj Kapoor, Founder and CEO of the India Blockchain Alliance, said during the keynote address, “Creativity doesn’t come from a laptop; it comes from within. What matters is how tools make our tasks simpler. Technology has brought significant changes to our lives, and this is just the beginning. In the next 10 years, we will witness a fully digitalized world, reshaping how we live and interact. The possibilities ahead are limitless, driven by innovation and adaptability.”
Panels on the second day will explore GenAI’s impact on filmmaking, scriptwriting, creativity, and journalism. ‘Her Story, Her Screen’ is a day devoted to women in the media industry, which includes a panel on ‘Redefining Media: Her Narrative, Her Power’ followed by perspectives on the future of youth in the industry. A fireside chat on ‘Blockchain and Intellectual Property: Protecting Creators in the Digital Age’ will take place the next day and on the final day, the event ends with a roundtable on the role of Extended Reality (XR) in cinema today.
The Expo features ten Goan, Indian, and global startups are presenting their trailblazing innovations in tech and media at their booths at Film Bazaar by NFDC located at Panaji, Goa. Among them are Fandora, a platform for users to invest and co-own content IP in films, sports, OTT series and more; PostMyAd, which lets users manage their digital billboard ads remotely; and PYC AI a global platform allowing artists and businesses to license voices, avatars and personas. The startups also include Behind The Scene, Rapid Rush, RecoBee, Zeno Saviour an AI-powered characters-as-a-service platform that empowers creators to build immersive experiences and games with ease, and a booth on Goan Narrative Live Streaming and Documentary Production.
The Tech Media Startup Expo 2024 is an opportunity to explore the latest advancements in virtual and augmented reality, animation, gaming, and content creation tools. Attendees will gain insights into the evolution of streaming platforms, advertising technologies, and the convergence of creativity with technology.
Running from 20–24 November, the Expo offers a platform to connect with industry leaders, network with global pioneers, and witness the future of media innovation.
